A Weapon of Mass Destruction-Free Zone in the Middle East: A Concept of Little Steps

Harald Müller presents various measures for pushing the peace process and arms control forward in Mid East

An international conference in 2012 headed by the United Nations shall investigate if and how a weapon of mass destruction-free zone in the Middle East is possible. This aim may still seem like wishful thinking because apparently Israel and the Arab World have contradicting positions and interests regarding this issue.

In HSFK-Report No. 5/2011 Eine massenvernichtungs-waffenfreie Zone im Nahen und Mittleren Osten: Ein Konzept der kleinen Schritte (A Weapon of Mass Destruction-Free Zone in the Middle East: A Concept of Little Steps), Harald Müller does not deny these problems but suggests measures to push the peace process and the arms control.
