Evaluations fulfill a variety of social functions and are also becoming increasingly important in extremism prevention and its interface areas with civic education and violence prevention. They already appear to be widespread and established in everyday professional practice, but their quality depends heavily on the capacities available to them. Nevertheless, little knowledge about existing evaluation capacities in Germany is available so far and a systematic overview was lacking.

The PRIF Report from the PrEval project highlights existing evaluation capacities in the field of extremism prevention and political education. For this purpose, the authors of the report conducted a nationwide telephone survey with 104 evaluation actors who are active in the field of third-party and self-evaluation. Based on the results, they identify development potential for useful, feasible and accurate evaluations.

In addition to the report, current evaluation capacities can also be accessed via the PrEval Platform, which was developed and established by the authors in the course of the project. With the help of an interactive map, facilities and institutes that are currently active in external and self-evaluation can be displayed. Additional analysis and visualization options also make it possible to go further.
