Social self-consciousness and political culture in post-Soviet Russia

This study focuses on the social self-consciousness in post-Soviet Russia based on the concepts of "Self", "Our" and "Other". Based on the theories of the "Self" and the "Other" from three different disciplines - psychology, sociology and democracy theory - the author analyzes the characteristics of post-Soviet change and political culture in Russia. 

 

Focussing on qualitative interviews with young people of the first post-soviet generation, Dr Anna Schor-Tschudnowskaja, reveals patterns of interpretation of the present political culture in Russia.
