The Stability of the Nuclear Nonproliferation Regime

In HSFK-Report No. 11/2009 Harald Müller examines the NPT and presents options for a successful disarmament of nuclear weapons

In May 2010 the NPT is reviewed again. Despite the current success in preventing the proliferation of nuclear material, the NPT's stability is at stake due to a potential loss of the nonproliferation norm's binding power.

In HSFK-Report No. 11/2009 Die Stabilität des nuklearen Nichtverbreitungsregimes: Stand und Optionen (The Stability of the Nuclear Nonproliferation Regime: State and Options), Harald Müller outlines an action programme that aims at a world without nuclear weapons. He presents concrete steps and urges for an improvement of the great power relations in order to reveal and approach the justice problems that have been neglected for too long.
