In HSFK-Report "Gewalt im Frieden. Formen und Ursachen der Nachkriegsgewalt in Guatemala" (Violence in Peace. Forms and and causes of post-war violence in Guatemala) Heidrun Zinecker examines why, ten years after the peace agreement between the government and the leftist guerrilla URNG, violence has increased instead of decreased. She finds out that this violence is rather of criminal than of political nature and analyzes its causes.
