HSFK-Report 8/2006 "Gewalt im Frieden. Formen und Ursachen der Nachkriegsgewalt in Guatemala" is now available in English as PRIF Report 76 "Violence in Peace. Forms and and causes of postwar violence in Guatemala". Herein, Heidrun Zinecker examines why, ten years after the peace agreement between the government and the leftist guerrilla URNG, violence has increased instead of decreased. She finds out that this violence is rather of criminal than of political nature and analyzes its causes.
