PRIF is in charge of coordinating the research network “Crises in a Globalised World”, established in April 2013. This network currently brings together 23 Leibniz institutes. They research crises in terms of their overarching patterns, dynamics and interdependencies, focusing on economic and financial, humanitarian, environmental and socio-political crises in particular. By combining expertise from the social sciences, humanities and natural sciences, this research undertaking aims to generate knowledge for practical applications that may serve to evaluate and deal with existent threats as well as to recognize developments that may culminate in a crisis early on.
The project was successfully completed on 31.12.2021.
How can crises, wars and conflicts be made visible? The exhibition "Making Crises Visible" of the Leibniz Research Network "Crises of a Globalized World" makes the attempt. Researchers from the research association, the cluster "The Formation of Normative Orders" and the Goethe University Frankfurt have worked together with students from the Hochschule für Gestaltung Offenbach am Main to develop ideas for the artistic visualisation of research results. The results can be seen at the Senckenberg Naturmuseum Frankfurt until June 2, 2020.
