On 11 March, a delegation from the University of Antioquia in Medellín, the second largest city in Colombia, visited PRIF. Dr. Jonas Wolff and Dr. Sabine Mannitz from PRIF, Susanne Buckley-Zistel from the Center for Conflict Research at Marburg University and Pilar Mendoza from Frankfurt University presented the current state of research and experiences of dealing with the past and the culture of remembrance in Germany.

In an interdisciplinary research project, the 12 Colombian scholars of the delegation will examine historical memory and the role of communication, media and journalism in addressing the armed conflict in Colombia that has lasted for more than five decades. Through the exchange of knowledge with experts from other countries who have experienced conflict, the researchers want to provide impulses for their own work. The exchange and the delegation trip were co-organized by the Deutsche Welle Akademie as part of the project "Hacemos Memoria" ("We make remembrance").

The University of Antioquia is also engaged in the establishment of the German-Colombian Peace Institute CAPAZ (Instituto Colombo-Alemán para la Paz – CAPAZ) where PRIF is founding member.
