During the last weeks, Prof. Olayemi Akinwumi from Nasarawa State University in Keffi has been visiting PRIF. The professor of African History was accompanied by two of his PhD students. Olayemi Akinwumi is one of the founders of the „Institute of Governance and Development Studies“ and offers research excursions for his students to PRIF.

Our Nigerian guests appreciate particularly the services of PRIF's library. “This library is one of the best in the field of peace and conflict studies”, said Olayemi Akinwumi. “As it is not easy to get the latest literature in Nigeria, we are happy to visit the PRIF library for our research.”
In March 2018, Olayemi Akinwumi already visited PRIF with three of his PhD students. In September has brought Peter Nnochirionye Afunanya und Stacy Ann Chinedu Nwodo. “I would love to bring more students to PRIF and offer them the chance to research the latest literature. However, it is difficult to get the visa”, said Olayemi Akinwumi. Stacy Ann Chinedu Nwodo is happy to be in Frankfurt. She is writing her PhD thesis on „Migration and Food Security in Nigeria“ and studies the agricultural and nutritional crises that emerge in rual areas when people are forced to migrate.

“Did you do any sightseeing in Frankfurt?”, we asked at the end of our short interview. “Not really, we spend all the time in the library to read all the books. We want to use our stay at PRIF in the best way”, said Professor Akinwumi and his student with a smile.
