With over 80 staff members, PRIF, part of the Leibniz association, is the largest institute for peace research in Germany. As gender equality is an essential component of sustainable peace, PRIF also takes the matter of equal opportunities seriously.
In accordance with this, PRIF supports gender equality and contributes to promoting and implementing this practice both within the institute and beyond. As a member of the Leibniz Association, PRIF likewise abides by the association’s general recommendations for gender equality as well as the research-oriented standards on gender equality set out by the German Research Foundation (DFG).
Doctoral students at PRIF possess the status of research associates and participate in the institute's doctoral program. This entails a comprehensive training program that prepares students for careers both within and outside of academia. As an institution that provides supervisory services, PRIF also hosts internships for university students.
