Reimagining Our Worlds from Below

Transnational Conversations on Resistance, Movements, and Transformations – Panel 7 with Hendrik Simon

Reimagining Our Worlds from Below.

#Reimagining2022 hosts Live Virtual Sessions from May 18–21 2022.

The Society for the Study of Social Problems (SSSP) is organizing this year's free virtual Outreach Conference “Reimagining Our Worlds from Below” (#Reimagining2022) with an innovative format: first, the speakers of the total of 10 panels upload their video formats, which can be viewed and commented on throughout May. Then, from May 18–21, virtual panels will be held to discuss.

Hendrik Simon, Researcher at PRIF, will participate in the panel “From Everyday Struggles to Global Change: Possibilities and Hurdles for Transnational Social Movement Unionism”. He will speak on “Networks of Solidarity and Trust” in global automotive value chains using the example of the “IG Metall Netzwerkinitiative” (network initiative).

Hendrik Simon’s video (including an interview with trade unionists of IG Metall) can be viewed in advance here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_sUZhqkHlDg&t=370s

When: Friday, May 20, 2022, 12–1:30pm UTC
Where: The live discussion will be held via Zoom (see below).
