Banning Chemical and Biological Weapons (CBW) is pivotal to international disarmament and security architecture, but how can regimes overcome current issues and strengthen themselves without weakening the taboo against or falling back upon CBW?
The conference “Chemical and Biological Weapons: The Interconnectivity of Norms” hosted by CBWNet seeks to understand which normative regimes may consider usage of CBW, focuses on how different norms interact with one another to achieve certain decisions, and which levels of norms specifically come into play.
When: 23 Oct, 12:00 – 24 Oct, 18:00
Where: Otto-Behaghel-Straße 12, 35394 Gießen, Germany
CBWNet is a joint project of the Berlin office of the Institute for Peace Research and Security Policy at the University of Hamburg (IFSH), the Chair for Public Law and International Law at the University of Gießen, the Peace Research Institute Frankfurt (PRIF) and the Carl Friedrich Weizsäcker-Centre for Science and Peace Research (ZNF) at the University of Hamburg.
