PRIF at the 11th Festival "Politik im Freien Theater"

PRIF researchers are participating in this year's festival which is themed "Power".

The festival begins on September 29 and runs through October 8, 2022. A total of 16 theater productions will be accompanied by a diverse program of art, culture and discourse.

On September 30, 2022, Núrel Bahí Reitz will participate in the audience discussion after the theater production "Coffee with Sugar?" by Laia RiCa. Her topics are postcolonialism and memory culture. Niklas Schörnig discusses crises, conflicts and media with the audience on October 3, 2022 after "Kriegsrahmen" by what about: fuego, zu. Finally, on October 4, 2022, starting at 1 p.m., Daniel Mullis leads a conversation with scholars about the play "Apocalypse Resistance Training" and the possibilities of protest research. Audience conversations will take place following each performance and are scheduled to last approximately 45 to 60 minutes.

On October 4, PRIF together with the Federal Agency for Civic Education will host the panel discussion "European Security" starting at 7:00 pm. The event will take place at the Haus am Dom.

With the "Politik im Freien Theater" festival, the bpb makes a guest appearance in a different German city every three years. After stations in Bremen, Stuttgart, Hamburg, Berlin, Cologne, Dresden, Freiburg and Munich, the 11th edition will take place in Frankfurt and thus for the first time in Hesse. The bpb is cooperating with the Künstler*innenhaus Mousonturm, the Schauspiel Frankfurt and the Festival-AG, a network of the regional independent scene. The 11th festival "Politik im Freien Theater" is supported and accompanied by the Cultural Department of the City of Frankfurt am Main.
