National Security Strategy: PRIF Contributions to the Debate

The German government plans to develop the first German National Security Strategy by the beginning of next year at the latest. To this end, consultations have been taking place since spring 2022 with partner countries, policymakers, the expert community and civil society. PRIF has participated in the debate in a variety of formats. These included expert dialogues as well as numerous publications: The PRIF blog published its own series on the National Security Strategy. Contributions also appeared on the “49security blog”. In addition, the HSFK was involved in a total of three “HSFK im Dialog” (PRIF dialogue) rounds of talks with the Federal Foreign Office and the BMZ. PRIF researchers also participated in the debate with various public discussion events, opinion pieces and participation in workshops of other institutions such as the BAKS, the SWP, the Advisory Board to the Federal Government for Civilian Crisis Prevention and Peacebuilding or the Protestant Academies. This page provides an overview of PRIF's activities regarding the debate on the security strategy.
